Jerry DeLemus, one of the key organizers of a Trump campaign group, just got arrested in an armed raid conducted by the FBI for conspiring against the United States.
“FBI just rolled up with lots of vehicles and agents who were in tactical gear,” said former chairman of New Hampshire GOP Jack Kimball, who works with DeLemus’s wife. “They forced their way into Jerry DeLemus and Sue’s condo with weapons drawn and arrested Jerry and took him away.”
Jerry DeLemus is Trump’s Co-Chair for the “Veterans for Trump” coalition in New Hampshire, an organization designed to attract veterans to the Trump campaign to use as political tokens. (An effort that is largely failing. Trump has been busted multiple times pretending to raise money for vets and then using the proceeds to fund his campaign, according to the National Review.)
DeLemus is a rabid Tea Party activist and is accused of providing assistance to the white terrorists involved in the Bundy Ranch stand-off. The indictment against him states that he was “a mid-level leader and organizer of the conspiracy who, among other things, recruited, organized, trained and provided logistical support to gunmen and other followers and organized and led armed patrols and security checkpoints.”
“We will stand and we will fight and we will die if the government tries to oppress the Bunds,” DeLemus proclaimed.
DeLemus is currently facing the following charges:
- Conspiracy to commit an offense against the United States.
- Threatening a federal law enforcement officer.
- Obstruction of justice.
- Attempting to impede or injure a federal law enforcement officer.
- Several firearms charges.
Jerry’s wife Sue DeLemus is also a feverishly zealous Trump supporter who, depressingly, happens to be a GOP State Representative of New Hampshire. When the Pope questioned the legitimacy of Trump’s faith, she famously posted on Facebook that “The Pope is the anti-Christ. Do your research.”
Thankfully, if you’re looking for the silver lining on Sue DeLemus’ title, there is a big one. The NH state legislature is notoriously, almost cartoonishly huge, comprising 400 state representative and 24 state Senators — it’s the third largest legislative body in the English-speaking world. As such, she has very, very little actual influence.
For once, the Trump campaign has so far remained silent regarding this new development, possibly because there doesn’t seem to be an obvious minority to blame this time.
